Yesterday we received a message from Georgia who works in the top end at a womens shelter we support. A few months back we sent up about 50 swim bags so kids at the shelter could do school swimming lessons and participate in water sports. Georgia sent us this gorgeous photo of two of the kids enjoying their swim bags at the local water park. “Thanks for the children gift bags. We had a picnic at the park with waterslide today. Although bit cold for us adults to play with water lol towels kept them dry and warm Thanks again […]

Leaving home because of family violence is an incredibly traumatic experience for everyone, but for children the trauma can carry into so many areas. Imagine having to leave everything behind, move house or go to a strange place like a refuge and not be able to get to school easily because you don’t have a bike and your new school is just a bit too far to walk. Children shouldn’t have to suffer further when family violence strikes. So we make sure to do everything we can to help kids in this situation. Yesterday we delivered to more bikes for kids who have […]

To our incredible followers and supporters, this is what you help us do. Last week we received a call from Cicely who helps children who have had to leave home due to domestic violence to re settle in new accommodation. Often those children had to leave everything behind. They leave home with nothing, sometimes not even shoes on their feet. These kiddos started at a new school but needed bikes to get there, so Cicely reached out to us to see if we could get them some bikes. Of course we said yes, and this is what Cicely sent me […]

Remember the fundraiser we did to send 20 kids to the cinema over the school holidays? Well, thanks to your donations, love and support we raised a little extra, and 25 kids from Drummond Street services had an amazing fun filled day at the cinema over the holidays. For some kids, this is their first ever time attending an event like this. Creating fun and exciting events creates fun and exciting memories, and every child needs that. Every child needs a day where they feel good, are welcomed and having fun. You might never meet them, but they’ll never forget […]

We wish we had more photos to show but we’re once again thrilled to support Launch Housings Pathways Project to provide sleeping bags and camping gear for 40 kids experiencing homelessness and disadvantage to attend camp. The kids all head off today and we’re thrilled to be able to help out with swimming gear, towels, sleeping bags, toiletries and other items. We hope the kids all have a fantastic time at camp!

Shopping has started for our annual pledge to send 40 kids living in crisis and in foster care off to camp. We get a few strange looks when we head to the checkout with 40 towels and 40 pairs of swimsuits but, we do what we gotta do! We still have heaps of things left to buy so if you’d like to help us give these gorgeous kids a fantastic break away at camp please consider clicking the link below and buying a ticket to win a gorgeous Mustang Fastback. Tickets are $10 each and the full $10 comes to […]

The Ceduna youth centre desperately needs shoes for about 80 school kids they support. These families struggle daily and the price of shoes for those living remotely is often more than they can afford. Unfortunately many families are on the Indue card system, which means they can’t buy second hand. We’d like to help them out by sending up some new shoes for the kids to wear to school. Can you help us? We need kids sizes 3 right up to size 14 for the big kids. We need school shoes, sandals, sneakers, anything! We would love to give the […]

A huge thank you once again to our incredible volunteer Super Simon for helping to deliver our precious cargo to the kids at drummond street services. These fully packed school bags will be delivered to 40 kids tomorrow who are all eager to head back to school. Thanks so much to the wonderful people at adrift for sponsoring these bags. We appreciate your support so very much. And again, a huge thank you to Simon for helping to make sure the bags were all delivered safely

What an incredible weekend our charity had! A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers who worked at our op shop The Kala Space over the weekend and a big shout out to everyone who helped at our Charity BBQ on Saturday as well. We also spent the day shopping for 40 urgent school bags for kids experiencing homelessness and disadvantage and had yet another team of incredible volunteers come in to help us assemble them. Oh and it was awesome to have Sammy J stop by our BBQ for a snag and a chat! We can’t do this without […]

When mums and kids flee domestic violence they generally do so with just the clothes on their backs. When the amazing people at Launch Housing start working with these families they contact us at the National Homeless Collective so we can assist the kids via our School Project. We believe every child has the right to an education and also the right to experience those positive memories at school camps and swimming. The School Project’s aim is to provide any equipment required to help the kids continue with their education. We provide equipment like books, stationery, bags and lunch packs. […]

More bikes put together at our HQ this weekend. These aren’t Christmas presents. They’re vehicles so children living in shelters, hotels and overcrowded dwellings can get to school next year. These children have almost always come through a family violence experience and they’ve usually had to leave everything behind. Getting to school on time is important to making sure kids start their school day without any more stress than they’re already under. We’re proud to be able to at least do that for them. December and January are always our busiest months as we try and get as many families […]

Last week we were contacted by a Mum desperate for some help to get her boy ready for high school. With the fees, the uniforms, the book lists, she was going to be more than $1000 out of pocket. This just should not be happening. So close to Christmas, parents out of work or reduced hours because of Covid, single parents struggling on Newstart allowance, looking for jobs that simply aren’t available to them, and stressed young teens who are worried they’re a burden on their parents who are just trying to get them educated. If we don’t give children […]
