Yesterday we delivered 47 Easter hampers to families in financial crisis so children whose families celebrate Easter could still have a magical Easter Sunday when the Easter bunny visits. Today we will be delivering 38 more hampers and we have over 100 more to deliver over Thursday, Friday and Saturday. That’s more than 200 Easter hampers. Each Easter hamper is made individually for each family, and we make sure there is something inside for every family member in the house. We want to give a huge shout out to the incredible people at Padre Coffee who supported our participants at The Plate Up Project. Padre Coffee are specialty coffee roasters, firmly focused on ethical and sustainable growth. I can’t believe how lucky we are that we get to do this! At The Plate Up Project today we were so lucky to have Chef Thea come along to teach us all how to make the most incredible BBQ food and salads! We cooked scrumptious sate chicken skewers and vegan skewers plus vegetable and halloumi kebabs and made the most amazing coleslaw, vegan coleslaw and fresh garlic bread! We are so incredibly proud of our superstar, Leah, and wanted to share her story with you. We first met Leah when she was experiencing homelessness and staying at Launch Housing.
