The Plate Up Project is about providing a Hand Up not just a Hand Out.
Women and Children escaping Domestic Violence are commonly left isolated and without financial independence.
At the Plate Up Project we endeavour to meet both these needs by engaging People in a Hospitality Course with a goal of harbouring inclusion and breaking down the immediate barriers that are standing in the way of a new and successful future.
Participants make new friendships, engage together and learn skills such as food preparation, recipe cooking, resume writing, interview skills and responsible service of alcohol.
Successful participants exist the program with:
- Food Handlers Certificates
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificates
- Certification as a Barista
- Completion of Work Experience in the Hospitality Industry.
